Avoid locations with excessive air current,vibrations, heat sources, or rapid temperature changes. Adjust the leveling feet sothe bubble is centered in the circle.Figure 2-1. Leveling the Scale.2.3 PowerConnect the AC Adaptor to the AC mains supply. Connect the plug to the DC jack onthe bottom of the scale (see Figure 1-1, item 9). The scale may be operated on theAC mains supply or the built-in rechargeable battery.2.3.1 Battery PowerThe scale will automatically switch to battery operation if there is a power failure orthe power cord is removed. With AC power, the scale is constantly charging, so thebattery charge indicator (see Figure 1-1, item 1) will remain lit. The scale can beoperated during charging, and the battery is protected against over charging.Before using the scale for the first time, the battery should be fullycharged for up to 12 hours.CAUTION: Battery is to be replaced only by an authorized Ohaus servicedealer. Risk of explosion can occur if replaced with the wrong type orconnected improperly. Dispose of the lead acid battery according tolocal laws and regulations.4 x Level FeetLevel Bubble
