1918Notes on mg/l (ppm) mode calibrationDuring mg/l (ppm) calibration, the meter adjusts tothe barometric pressure value that is programmed intothe meter. It also adjusts to the salinity value that isprogrammed into the meter. You can change the barometric pressure value andsalinity value in the mg/l (ppm) SETUP mode (seepages 47-48 for directions).Whenever an error occurs during calibration, the ERRindicator appears in the lower left hand corner of thedisplay.Temperature CalibrationThe built-in temperature sensor included in the DO probe is factory calibrated.Calibrate your sensor only if you suspect sensor drift that may have occurredover a long period of time or if you have a replacement DO probe. Make sure DOprobe is attached before you perform the temperature calibration.1. Switch the meter on. Press MODE toselect either pH or mg/l (ppm)Measurement mode.2. Press the CAL/MEAS key to enterpH or mg/l (ppm) calibration mode. The CAL indicator will appear above theprimary display.See figure3. While in pH or mg/l (ppm) calibrationmode, press the MODE key to entertemperature calibration mode. The primary display shows the last settemperature reading and the secondarydisplay shows you the factory defaulttemperature value.See figure4. Compare the primary display readingto a NIST-traceable thermometer oranother thermometer known to beaccurate.5. Press the s or t keys to adjustthe primary display reading to agreewith your temperature standard.See figure6. Press the ENTER key to confirmtemperature calibration and return toMeasurement mode.NotesTo exit from Temperature Calibration modewithout confirming calibration, DO NOTpress ENTER in step 6. Press CAL/MEASinstead.Temperature calibration is restricted to±5°C from the factory default valuedisplayed during calibration (shown in thesecondary display).ATCREADYCALCmg/lATCREADYCALCATCREADYCALCABC4.7ABC
