Unplugthe phono jack when not in use or you measure pH without any temperaturecompensation.2.7 Conditioning the pH ElectrodeFor best results condition the pH electrode before use or if it has not been in use for along time by soaking it into a container filled with pH 4 buffer solution for at least 1 hourand rinse before use.2.8 Switching the Meter On1. Press ON/OFF key. All LCD segments will display momentarily as the meterperforms a self-diagnostic test. The Ion 6+ will display “- - -“ if the meter has notbeen calibrated or if the meter has been reset.2. Press MODE key to choose the desired measurement mode.If a temperature probe is not connected, either 25.0oC (factory default) or the lastcalibrated temperature value is displayed.
