‐ EN ‐14 FiltoSmart 100/200/300Connecting the hoseThe procedure is identical for the inlet (IN) and outlet(OUT).How to proceed: K1. Shorten the hose to the required length.– Chose the length so that the hose cannot kink inthe intended installation position.2. Screw the union nut onto the hose connector of theconnection unit.3. Push the hose onto the hose connector and turn theunion nut counter‐clockwise to fix the hose in place.4. Push the other end of the hose onto the hose con‐nector at the suction unit/flow‐out unit and turn theunion nut counter‐clockwise to fix the hose in place. C Fasten the suction unit and flow‐out unit in theaquarium using suction cups.COMMISSIONING/START‐UPN O T EThoroughly rinse out all filter material with warm tapwater before using for the first time in order to removeany soiling. (→ Cleaning/replacing the filter media)N O T EEnsure that the pump never runs dry!The pump will be destroyed. Regularly check the water level and circulation inthe filter and in the aquarium. How to proceed: N• Completely fill the container with water and place itnext to the aquarium.– Fill the container via the opening. For this, removethe blind plug.– When starting it up for the first time, ensure thatthe connection unit is max. 80 cm below the sur‐face of the water. Ensure that the water outlet(flow‐out pipe or water distributor) is not sub‐merged.– A completely filled filter may be more than 80 cmbelow the surface of the water. Note the maxi‐mum head height. (→ Technical data)• Route each power connection cable such that itforms a drip loop.Switching on: Connect the unit to the mains. The unitswitches on immediately. When the unit is switchedon, it takes several minutes for the air to escape fromthe unit (this makes a noise). Adjust the flow at the flow regulator if necessary.(→ Assembling the suction unit)Switching off: Disconnect the unit from the mains.TROUBLESHOOTINGMalfunction Cause RemedyUnit does not start up.
