9oPErAtIon5. CounterweightWhen shooting under windyconditions or when using atelephoto lens, the stabilityof your camera is critical. Thebuilt-in spring-loaded hook atthe bottom of the center columnallows you to hang a counter-weight for increased stabilization,such as a (not included) sandbagor loaded equipment bag.The tripod includes a mountingscrew with a 1/4” screw on oneend and a 3/8” screw on the other,allowing you to mount either sizetripod head. To switch betweenthe two sizes, remove the platefrom the tripod by turning itcounter-clockwise.Remove the screw, and insert theopposite end back into the plate.Mount the plate back onto thetripod by turning it clockwise.To mount a head, align thebottom of the tripod mount withthe tripod’s mounting screw,then twist clockwise until fullysecured. Do not over-tighten, asthis may cause damage.6. Mounting the Head4. Put the main column aside.Tighten the Allen screw withthe Allen wrench so that thescrew is flush with the surfaceof the center column. Insert theshort column into the tripod.Tighten the center columnlocking knob securely.
