17 of 44Subject to change without notice OC15269 REV Fwww.octopusdrives.comwww.octopuseurope.comB4c Installation• Prepare the steering cylinderi) Use the helm to extend the steeringcylinder to full hard over as shown inFig B19 (it may be necessary to runthe engine to do this).ii) Remove the cotter and clevis pins thatconnect the primary steering cablerod end to the steering cylinder clevisbracket.• Fit the drive collar and spacer bushi) Use the helm to retract the primarysteering cable to full opposite hardover so the rod end disengages fromthe cylinder clevis bracket (Fig B20a).ii) Slacken the clamp screw and lock nuton the fitting kit drive collar.iii) Fit the spacer bush* on to the steeringcylinder sleeve, ensure it is correctlyoriented - refer to Fig B20b.* The spacer bush is not required on Volvomodels 3862513 and 3862514 which were fittedfrom Sept 2003 onwards - the drive collar will clampdirectly onto the cable guide tubeiv) Slide the drive collar on to the steeringcylinder and over the spacer bush asshown in the diagram.
