User’s Guide29TROUBLESHOOTINGABOUT TROUBLESHOOTINGThis section provides procedures to identify and solve problems that may occur while you aresetting up and installing the printer.POWER ON PROBLEMSIf you have problems turning on the printer, check the possible causes listed in the tablebelow. If the printer will not start after checking these items, turn the printer off, disconnectthe power cord from the AC outlet, and contact your dealer or an authorized service provider.Description Possible Cause ActionThe power switch is not set to[ I ] (on).Check the power switch.The power cord is not properlyplugged into an AC outlet or intothe AC connector on the rear ofthe printer.Set the power switch to [ O ] (off).Then, connect the power cord firmly tothe AC connector and to the AC outlet.Voltage of the AC power is notcorrect.Verify that the AC outlet is rated for thevoltage of your printer.The fuse on the power cord isnot functioning. (UK only)Verify that the fuse on the power cordis intact. (UK only)The AC wall outlet is notfunctioning.Verify that voltage is present at the ACwall outlet by connecting anotherelectrical device to the outlet. If powerdoes not flow to the other device,check the AC wall outlet circuitbreakers for a tripped breaker.There is interference from otherelectrical devices on the samecircuit.Unplug all electrical devices from theAC wall outlet circuit, and thenreconnect only the printer. Turn printerpower on.There is no power.Thermal sensors may have shutdown the printer.Turn the printer off. Wait 20 minutes.Then, turn the printer back on.Power is frequentlyinterrupted.The printer is malfunctioning. Turn the printer off. Disconnect thepower cord from the AC outlet. Contactyour dealer or an authorized serviceprovider.
