Getting to know your product > 15CONTROL PANELSThe two control panels, one on the scanner unit and one on the printer unit, arecomplementary to each other and work together as component parts of the overall MFP.Essentially, the printer control panel is associated with control and status of the printingfunction while the scanner unit control panel is associated with control and status of thecopying, scanning and faxing functions.PRINTER UNIT CONTROL PANEL1. Shutdown/Restart buttonPress and hold down for a soft shutdown. You can then press this button again for arestart or use the Power switch to turn off the printer completely.2. Ready lightOn: indicates ready to printFlashing: indicates processing print dataOff: indicates unable to receive data (offline)3. Attention lightOff: indicates normal operationFlashing: indicates error(s) present but printing can continueOn: indicates error(s) present and printing cannot continue4. Display panelDisplays status and setup information for the printer and user help information inyour chosen language.5. Menu buttonsThese four buttons (Enter, up-arrow, down-arrow, back) enable you to set values ina menu system to control printer operation. These settings can be over-ridden bysettings you make in application software.6. Online buttonAllows you to switch between online (printer unit ready to receive data) and offline(printer unit not ready to receive data).7.
