9Preparing the Image Drum/Toner Cartridges1. Press the cover release button and lift the topcover.2. Carefully lift the black toner/drum cartridge out ofthe printing unit.3. Unwrap the protective sheet and place thecartridge on a flat work surface.4. Pull out both the protective sheet and the plasticsheet in the direction of arrow.5. Carefully place the toner/drum cartridge back intothe printing unit.6. Push the blue lock lever towards the back of theunit as far as it will go. This unlocks the tonercartridge to release toner into the image drum.CAUTION!The green image drum surface at the base ofthe cartridge is very delicate and lightsensitive. Do not touch it and do not expose itto normal room light for more than 5 minutes.
