77-93 Using EFI Hot FoldersES3640e MFP EFI Printing Guide - 93This chapter describes how to use the EFI Hot Folders applicationto store and reuse frequently used print options when printingPostScript and PDF files on the ES3640e MFP.Overview of Hot FoldersA Hot Folder is a special folder to which you can assign a group ofprint options. To print a document, drag and drop the documentfile onto the Hot Folder. The Hot Folder application routes the jobto a corresponding print queue using the print options associatedwith that Hot Folder.Note: After printing original data, you may notice additionalnumbers at the end of the original file name.You can create as many Hot Folders as you want on yourcomputer. You can also share Hot Folders with other users on thenetwork by creating shortcuts to the folders from remotecomputers.To begin working with Hot Folders, create one or moreHot Folders, assigning print options and a print queue to each(see ìCreating and deleting Hot Foldersî on page 7-95). You canthen print jobs by dragging and dropping the document files ontothe corresponding Hot Folders. You can also print a job by printingthe document file from the source application, with theappropriate Hot Folder specified as the print destination. TheHot Folder Control Panel allows you to manage your Hot Foldersand monitor the status of jobs sent to the folders (see ìUsing theHot Folder Control Panelî on page 7-94).File format restrictionsThe Hot Folder application supports the printing of PostScript andPDF jobs.
