Remove the battery and warm it by putting itin your pocket for a while.The camera is in sleep mode• To save battery power, the camera automatically switches to sleep mode andthe monitor turns off if there is no operation when the camera is turned on(when the lens is extended and the monitor is on). No picture is taken even ifthe shutter button is fully pressed in this mode. Operate the zoom button orother buttons to restore the camera from sleep mode before taking a picture.If the camera is left for about 15 minutes, it automatically turns off (the lensretracts and the monitor turns off). And when the camera is turned on withplayback mode, the camera does not switch to sleep mode and the camerawill turn off automatically when it left for about 3 minutes. Press the POWERbutton to turn the camera on.The mode switch is set to q• This is the playback mode for displaying pictures on the monitor.
