Index marks can only beplaced on files created by Olympus voicerecorders, but temp marks can be placedinstead to temporarily remember desiredlocations.Clearing an index mark or a temp mark1 Locate the index or temp markyou want to clear.2 Press the 9 or 0 button toselect the index or temp mark toerase.3 While the index or temp numberappears for approximately 2seconds on the display, press theERASE button.• The index or temp mark is erased.• Index or temp numbers after theerased index or temp number willautomatically move up.Notes• Temp marks are temporary markings, soif you transmit a file to the PC, or moveit with a PC, they will be automaticallyerased.• Up to 16 index and temp marks can beset in a file. If you try to place more than16 index or temp marks, [Index Full]message will appear for index marks, and[Temp Mark Full] for temp marks.• Index or temp marks cannot be set orerased in a locked file (☞ P.47, P.49).• Even after an index or temp mark isplaced, recording or playback willcontinue so you can place index ortemp marks in other locations in asimilar manner.
