6OperationMaintenanceSLICINGSpecific Safety Advice for Slicing and for Handling the Slicer1. Never touch the blade while the slicer is operating because it will cause injury!2. Always use the piece holder. Press the piece of food to be sliced forward using the piece holder.3. Use the slicer only for slicing normal household foods and not for other purposes. Do not use the slicer forslicing frozen foods, bones, dehydrated foods with large seeds, or for slicing packaged foods.4. Never use the slicer for more than 10 minutes continuously.5. The cutting blade 3 continues to rotate after the slicer has been switched off.6. For reasons of safety, the slice thickness must be returned to the “0” setting after use.SELECT MODE OF OPERATIONThe two operating modes can be switched on and off with the switch. The vario-switch provides infinite controlof the speed and rotation of the blade. Continuous operation mode/max runs 10 minutes (switch “T’ in positionI). Set the switch to “I” and the cutting blade runs without having to hold the switch. To stop running continuousmode move the switch to the “0” position and wait until the cutting blade comes to a complete standstill.Intermittent operation mode (switch “T’ in position “P”): Set the switch to “P” and the cutting blade will continueto run as long as the switch is held in this position. Stopping intermittent operation: Release the switch and waituntil the cutting blade comes to a complete standstill.SETTING THE SLICE THICKNESSThe slice thickness can be set to between 0 and approx. 22mm. Set the required slice thickness using theknob “1”. The settings on the scale does not correspond with the slice thickness. For safety reasons, the bladeis covered during setting “0”. Place the food to be sliced on to the food carriage. If necessary, lightly pressthe food to be sliced with the food holder plate against the food support plate. Switch the device on and thenpress the food to be sliced forward guiding it along the cutting blade. After using the slicer, always set thefood support plate to the “0” setting so that the sharp blade is covered. The cutting blade is ideally suitablefor cutting wafer-thin slices of cold cuts. To safeguard your fingers, always use the food carriage and the foodholder plate when possible.CLEANING1.
