Not included in some house option kits!)Attach the storm braces (if included inthe supplied kit) to the inner sides ofthe front (2 units) and back (2 units)walls with the supplied bolts. It isimportant for the logs to be drilledthrough in advance. Please keep thedistances indicated in the drawing sothat no problems occur due to woodswelling or diminishing.ADVICE: Make sure that the stormbraces are attached to the apex logfrom above and to the middle of thefirst full-length wall log from below. Ifnecessary, shorten the upper ends ofthe slats.Do not turn the screws tightly so woodcan further swell or diminish.With the house having settled, youshould adjust the attachments so thewall logs can settle.Installation of storm braces:General advice:Problem: Gaps appear between the wall logsCause: Additional details are attached to the house that do not allow wood toswell/diminish.Solutions: If the door/window is attached to the wall logs with screws/nails, remove thesescrews/nails;If the storm brace is screwed on too tightly, loosen its attachment;If (rain water) pipes are installed on the wall, loosen their attachments;Problem: The doors and windows become stuck.Cause: The house/foundation has settled.Solution: Check whether the house is level.
