E-9Precautions When Connecting the System (continued)z Make sure to connect the GENLOCK OUTconnector of this unit and the GENLOCK INconnector of the camera recorder using a BNCcable, and set the GENLOCK menu of thecamera recorder to “EXT”.*(However, this setting will be automaticallyperformed on the AG-HPX300/301/302/304and the AG-HPX500/502, so it is not requiredto perform this setting)Also, if the camera recorder is being used inHD mode, set the "GL PHASE" in theGENLOCK menu to “HD SDI”.*Connect the cables as shown in 1 - 6 on page7.* For the setting method, refer to the operatinginstructions of the camera recorder.z Do not perform version update of the camerarecorder while this unit and the camera adapterare connected. Perform the version update ofthe camera recorder with the camera recorderon its own.z When connecting this unit with the camerarecorder, match the system format of thecamera recorder with the video format of theSDI signal.z In systems combining this unit and theAG-HPX500/502, the AG-HPX500/502 shouldnot be used in playback mode or IEEE1394mode.z When connecting this unit with theAJ-HDX900P/E, set the OUTPUT SEL switchon the camera recorder so the HD SDI signal isoutput from the VIDEO OUT connector of thecamera recorder.Setting up the camera recorderSetup the camera recorder to configure a system by connecting this unit with the AG-BS300P/E and thecamera recorder.For the setting of the camera recorder, refer to the operating instructions of the camera recorder.Setting of the video formatUsing camera recorder menu operations or switchoperations, set the video signal format of theoutput from the SDI output connector of thecamera recorder and the video signal format forrecording to the same format.Setting of the GENLOCK MODESet the GENLOCK MODE of the camera recorderto GENLOCK: EXT using the menu operation ofthe camera recorder.(This setting is not necessary for AG-HPX300/301/302/304 and AG-HPX500/502.)Setting of the GENLOCK PHASESet the GL PHASE of the camera recorder to GLPHASE: HD SDI using the menu operation of thecamera recorder.If it is used connected to the AG-HPX500/502, setthe GL SELECT item to SDI, and the GL PHASEitem to OFF.Setting of the CRT VFSet the VF TYPE to be used on the camerarecorder using the menu operation of the camerarecorder.If it is set to VF TYPE: SD, only the SD video canbe checked for the return video (RET video) fromthis unit.Setting of the batteryPower is supplied from the base station to thecamera recorder from the battery connector of thecamera recorder via this unit. When the power issupplied from the base station connecting this unitand the camera recorder, set the battery setting ofthe camera recorder to "TYPE B", the voltage todisplay as FULL to "13.0 V", near-end voltage to"12.5 V", and end voltage to "12.0 V" when thepower is supplied to the camera recorder.
