Applicable standards and operating environmentThe apparatus is compliant with:• standards EN55013 1990, A12/1994, A13/1996, A14/1999and EN55020 1994, A11/1996, A12/1999, A13/1999, A14/1999and EN61000-3-2 1995, A1/1998, A2/1998, EN61000-3-3/1995• description of electromagnetic locationThe environments encompassed by this standard are residential, commercial andlight-industrial locations, both indoor and outdoor.2. Pre-requisite conditions to achieving compliance with the abovestandards<1> Peripheral equipment to be connected to the apparatus and special connectingcables• The purchaser/user is urged to use only equipment which has been recommendedby us as peripheral equipment to be connected to the apparatus.• The purchaser/user is urged to use only connecting cables recommended by us ortheir equivalent as the optional special cables.<2> For the connecting cables, use shielded cables which suit the intendedpurpose of the apparatus.• Video signal connecting cablesCoaxial cables, which are designed for 75-ohm type high-frequency applications,are recommended for analogue video signals.• Audio signal connecting cablesUse shielded cables, which provide quality performance for high-frequencytransmission applications, for analogue audio signals.• Control system connecting cablesUse shielded cables, which provide quality performance for high-frequencytransmission applications, as control system connecting cables.3. Performance levelThe performance level of the apparatus is equivalent to or better than the performancelevel required by these standards.However, the apparatus may be adversely affected by interference if it is being used in anEMC environment, such as an area where strong electromagnetic fields are generated (bythe presence of signal transmission towers, cellular phones, etc.). In order to minimize theadverse effects of the interference on the apparatus in cases like this, it is recommendedthat the following steps be taken with the apparatus being affected and with its operatingenvironment:1. Place the apparatus at a distance from the source of the interference.2. Change the direction of the apparatus.3. Change the connection method used for the apparatus.4. Connect the apparatus to another power outlet where the power is not shared byany other appliances.Attention:In order to avoid EMC-disturbance to this unit during operation, it is necessary to hold adistance of at least 70 cm, when using a mobile GSM-telephone in calling mode.
