E-12ENGLISHIEEE1394b Driver for WindowsThis driver is for the IEEE1394b interface for theP2 card on this unit.1) Before installationSystem requirements for the IEEE1394b driverare as follows.z OS: Windows XP Professional SP2 or higherz RAM: 512 MB or more (1 GB or more isrecommended)z CPU: Pentium ®4 1.5 GHz or higher isrecommendedThe IEEE1394b connection in Windows 2000 isnot supported.2) Installation of the IEEE1394bdriverInstall the IEEE1394b driver in accordance withthe following procedures.The IEEE1394b driver is installed for each unitconnected to a personal computer. If you usemore than one unit on a single personalcomputer, install the drivers for the respectiveunits separately. If the IEEE1394b driver are notinstalled, a sufficient transfer rate may not beobtained.1 In accordance with the descriptions in “4.New Installation of the P2 Software” (frompages 4 to 6 of the installation manual),install the software up to Procedure No. 8.2 When the window shown in Fig. 7 ofProcedure No. 8 (page 6 in the installationmanual) is displayed, select “AJ-PCD20 (P2drive) 1394 driver” and then click OK.3 When the message “Please connect AJ-PCD20 (P2 drive) by 1394” is displayed,connect this unit to the personal computerusing IEEE1394b. Confirm that all five driveletters of this unit are displayed and thenpress Install.When the unit is connected to a personalcomputer through USB, remove the USBcable and then connect using IEEE1394b.4 The warning box may be displayed; in such acase, click “Continue Anyway”. The warningbox may be displayed two or more times.5 In accordance with the instructions on thescreen, complete the installation and restartthe personal computer.Before installing the IEEE1394b driver, installthe update program provided by Microsoft inaccordance with the following procedures. If theupdates are not installed, a sufficient transferrate may not be obtained.1 Open the Web browser and navigate to theMicrosoft website.2 Enter “KB885222” in the search column onthe website, and then press the searchbutton.3 Click the link for “Performance of 1394devices may decrease after you installWindows XP Service Pack 2,” which isindicated as a search result.4 Read the information on the displayedpage, then download and install the updateprogram on the personal computer.
