10Getting StartedDo Not Charge the Battery Using Methods Other ThanThose SpecifiedIf the battery is not charged using one of the specifiedmethods, electrolyte leakage, generation of heat, ignition orrupture may result.Do Not Throw the Battery Pack into a Fire or Expose Itto Excessive HeatGeneration of heat, ignition or rupture may result.Avoid Extreme Heat (Near the Fire, in Direct Sunlight, for Example)Electrolyte leakage, generation of heat, ignition or rupturemay result.Do Not Insert Sharp Objects into the Battery Pack, Ex-pose It to Bumps or Shocks, Disassemble, or Modify ItElectrolyte leakage, generation of heat, ignition or rupturemay result. If this product is subjected to a strong impact, stop using itimmediately.Do Not Short the Positive (+) and Negative (-) ContactsGeneration of heat, ignition or rupture may result. Do not place the battery pack together with articles suchas necklaces or hairpins when carrying or storing.Do Not Use This Product With a Battery Pack OtherThan the One SpecifiedUse only the specified battery pack (è page 11) with yourproduct. Use of battery packs other than those manufac-tured and supplied by Panasonic may present a safetyhazard (generation of heat, ignition or rupture). When battery pack has deteriorated, replace it with anew oneContinued use of a damaged battery pack may result in heatgeneration, ignition or battery rupture.CAUTION:Risk of Explosion if Battery is replaced by an IncorrectType. Dispose of Used Batteries According to the Instruc-tions.58-E-1ATTENTION:Il y a risque d’explosion si la batterie est remplacée parune batterie de type incorrect.Mettre au rebut les batteries usagées conformément auxinstructions.58-F-1l Do not touch the terminals on the battery pack. The bat-tery pack may no longer function properly if the contactsare dirty or damaged.l Do not expose the battery pack to water, or allow it tobecome wet.l If the battery pack will not be used for a long period oftime (a month or more), charge or discharge (use) thebattery pack until the remaining battery level becomes30% to 40% and store it in a cool, dry place.l This computer prevents overcharging of the battery byrecharging only when the remaining power is less thanapprox. 95% of capacity.l The battery pack is not charged when the computer isfirst purchased. Be sure to charge it before using it forthe first time. When the AC adaptor is connected to thecomputer, charging begins automatically.l Should the battery leak and the fluid get into your eyes,do not rub your eyes. Immediately flush your eyes withclear water and see a doctor for medical treatment assoon as possible.NOTEl The battery pack may become warm during recharg-ing or normal use. This is completely normal.l Recharging will not commence if internal tempera-ture of the battery pack is outside of the allowabletemperature range (0 °C to 50 °C) (è ReferenceManual “Battery Power”). Once the allowable rangerequirement is satisfied, charging begins automati-cally. Note that the recharging time varies based onthe usage conditions. (Recharging takes longer thanusual when the temperature is 10 °C or below.)l If the temperature is low, the operating time is short-ened. Only use the computer within the allowabletemperature range.l This computer has a high temperature mode functionthat prevents the degradation of the battery in hightemperature environments. (è Reference Manual“Battery Power”) A level corresponding to a 100%charge for high temperature mode is approximatelyequivalent to an 80% charge level for normal tempera-ture mode.l The battery pack is a consumable item. If the amountof time the computer can be run by using a particularbattery pack becomes dramatically shorter and re-peated recharging does not restore its performance, the battery pack should be replaced with a new one.l When transporting a spare battery inside a package, briefcase, etc., it is recommended that it be placed ina plastic bag so that its contacts are protected.l Always power off the computer when it is not in use.Leaving the computer on when the AC adaptor is notconnected will exhaust the remaining battery capacity(è Reference Manual “LAN”).A lithium ion battery that is recy-clable powers the product you havepurchased. Please call 1-800-8-BATTERY forinformation on how to recycle thisbattery.L’appareil que vous vous êtes pro-curé est alimenté par une batterieau lithium-ion.Pour des renseignements sur lerecyclage de la batterie, veuillezcomposer le 1-800-8-BATTERY.48-M-1Read Me First
