62Wireless LANSetting the wireless LAN access pointPreparationFollow the instruction manual of the wireless LAN access point to make settings for the access point to recognize the com-puter.1 Turn the wireless LAN on.2 Click or on the notification area and click [Connect to a network].The [Connect to a network] screen appears.3 Click and select an access point, and click [Connect].4 Input the key you set for the access point to recognize the computer, and click [Connect].Wait for the computer to connect to the wireless LAN access point.When [Successfully connected to XXXX] is displayed, the wireless LAN setting is complete.z [Save this network] : Add a check mark to save the password, settings, etc.z [Start this connection automatically] : Add a check mark so the computer automatically detects the access pointand connects to the Internet.5 Click [Close].NOTEz If you cannot communicate with the access point or if the access point is not detected, right-click on the notifica-tion area and click [Connect to a network], and then click in the [Connect to a network] screen.z The settings depend on the network environment. For further information, ask the system administrator or the personin charge of the network.z If you use the stealth type wireless LAN access point which restricts automatic detection of the wireless LAN accesspoint, take the following procedure.If you do not perform the procedure below, you may not be able to access the wireless LAN access point automaticallyor the wireless LAN access point may not be displayed on the [Connect to a network] screen.A Click , or on the notification area, click [Network and Sharing Center] - [Set up a connection ornetwork] - [Manually connect to a wireless network] and click [Next].B Input necessary information and add check marks for [Start this connection automatically] and [Connect even ifthe network is not broadcasting] and click [Next].
