- 10 -[Battery Charger]ChargingLi-ion Battery PackNOTE:Your battery pack is not fully charg-ed at the time of purchase. Be sureto charge the battery before use.Battery charger (EY0L80)1. Plug the charger into the AC outlet.NOTE:Sparks may be produced when theplug is inserted into the AC powersupply, but this is not a problem interms of safety.. Insert the battery pack firmly into thecharger.1 Line up the alignment marks andplace the battery onto the dock onthe charger.2 Slide forward in the direction of thearrow.Alignment marks. During charging, the charging lamp willbe lit.When charging is completed, an inter-nal electronic switch will automaticallybe triggered to prevent overcharging.• Charging will not start if the batterypack is warm (for example, immedi-ately after heavy-duty operation).The orange standby lamp will be lituntil the battery cools down.Charging will then begin automati-cally.4. The charge lamp (green) will flashslowly once the battery is approxi-mately 80% charged.5. When charging is completed, thecharging lamp will start flashing quicklyin green color.6. When in any of the conditions that bat-tery pack is too cool, charging takeslonger to fully charge the battery pack,than the standard charging time.Even when the battery is fully charged,it will have approximately 50% of thepower of a fully charged battery at nor-mal operating temperature.7. If the power lamp does not light imme-diately after the charger is plugged in,or if after the standard charging time thelamp does not go off, consult an autho-rized dealer.8. If a fully charged battery pack isinserted into the charger again, thecharging lamp lights up. After sever-al minutes, the charging lamp mayflash quickly to indicate the chargingis completed.Ni-MH/Ni-Cd Battery PackNOTE:When you charge the battery packfor the first time, or after prolongedstorage, charge it for about 4hours to bring the battery up to fullcapacity.Battery charger (EY0L80)1.
