70Select the pattern files by pressing the [Binary/Gray], [Red], [Blue] or [Green]button. In the case of Color, the pattern files must be set for Red, Blue andGreen.How to create the gamma pattern files• Gamma pattern files are created using a text editor (such as Notepad which isprovided with Windows® ).• Give a name to the pattern, and save it as a file. The filename will have the .PXGextension. Both upper- and lower-case letters are effective for the names.Normal: This is the recommended setting when scanning in color, grayscaleor halftone mode.• With the KV-S7065C, this is the most suitable setting when scan-ning business documents. Select CRT when scanning the kind ofdocument most of whose pages consist of photos.CRT: This is the recommended setting if the primary objective ofscanning documents is to view them on the display.Linear: This is the mode that gamma correction is not used.Line 1 Name; the scanner ignores this line.Line 2 Table size; input “256”.Line 3 Input the conversion value of level 0 (brightest level).Line 4 Input the conversion value of level 1.: :Line 258 Input the conversion value of level 255 (darkest level).For the data to be set, “0” is the brightest settings and “255” is the darkest setting.
