2.2. USER RECOVERABLE ERRORSIf the unit detects a problem, one or more of the following messages will appear on the display.• There is something wrong with the modem circuit.• There is no space to store new stations in the JOG DIAL directory. Edit or eraseunnecessary stations.CALL SERVICEDISPLAY MESSAGE CAUSE AND REMEDY• There is something wrong with the unit. Contact our service personnel.[This error is displayed when the thermal head does not warm up. Check the thermistoron the thermal head and connector lead. (for technicians)]• The cover is open. Close it.• The document is not fed into the unit properly. Reinsert the document. If misfeedingoccurs frequently, clean the document feeder rollers and try again. If the problemremains, adjust the feeder pressure. (Refer to page 113.)• Memory (telephone numbers, parameters, etc.) has been erased. Re-program.[The backup battery on the top of the digital board may be low or dead, so check it.]• Theto clear the message.recording paper is not installed or the unit ran out of paper. Install paper and press• The recording paper is not fed into the unit properly or has jammed near the recordingpaperthe message.entrance. Clear the jammed paperDo not install folded or heavily curled paper in the paper tray.• The unit has (a) document(s) in memory. See the other message instructions to printout the document(s).• The film is empty. Replace the film or film cartridge with a new one.• The film is slack. Tighten it and install again.• The remaining film can print about 15 pages of letter size documents. Prepare a newfilm cartridge.• Memory is full of received documents due to lack of recording paper or a recordingpaper jam, etc. Install paper or clear the jammed paper.• When performing memory transmission, the document being stored exceeds thememory capacity of the unit. Transmit the entire document by using manual or automatictransmission.• The other party's fax machine is busy or ran out of recording paper. Try again.• A recording paper jam occurred under the film cartridge. Clear the jammed paper.[If the printout jams, please refer to 2.2.1. PAPER JAM.]CHECK COVERCHECK DOCUMENTCHECK MEMORY• The film cartridge is not inserted property. Reinsert it correctly.CHECK FILMCHECK PAPERFAX IN MEMORYFILM EMPTYFILM NEAR EMPTY• The free starter film is empty.
