This is useful to increase the number of telephoneswithout additional extension cards. The combinations and features of the parallelled telephones aredescribed below.Features Descriptions ConnectionsParallel Mode Parallel mode involves the connection of an SLT toan APT or a DPT that is connected to a Super Hybridport. When parallel mode is enabled, the two telephonesfunction as follows:• Both share the extension number of thetelephone connected directly to the PBX (maintelephone).• Either telephone can make or answer a call.EXtra Device Port(XDP) ModeXDP mode involves the connection of an SLT to aDPT that is connected to a Super Hybrid port.Unlike parallel mode, each telephone can act as acompletely different extension with its own extensionnumber. (→ 2.1.1 Extension Port Configuration)Digital XDP Digital XDP involves the connection of a DPT to aDPT that is connected to a Super Hybrid port. TheDPT that is connected directly to the PBX is calledthe “master DPT”, and the DPT connected to themaster DPT is called the “slave DPT”.Like XDP mode, each telephone can act as acompletely different extension with its own extensionnumber.A third telephone (SLT) can also be added in parallelor XDP mode with the master DPT.Digital XDP connection allows the number of DPTsthat the PBX supports to increase.APT/DPT + SLTPBX SLTDPTExtn. 101 Extn. 101APT Extn. 102Extn. 102SLTDPT + SLTPBXSLTDPTExtn. 101 Extn. 105PBXDPT + DPTDPTExtn. 101 Extn. 201DPTMaster SlavePBXDPTExtn. 101 Extn. 201SLTExtn. 101 (in Parallel Mode)orExtn. 105 (in XDP Mode)DPTMaster SlaveDPT + DPT + SLT
