After you subscribe tothis service, the telephone serviceprovider’s Voice Mail system willanswer calls for you when you areunavailable to answer the phone orwhen your line is busy. Messages arerecorded by the telephone serviceprovider, not your telephone.Important:L To use the Voice Mail serviceprovided by your telephone serviceprovider rather than the unit’sanswering system, turn off theanswering system (page 25).Voice Mail message indicationThe unit lets you know that you havenew Voice Mail messages in thefollowing ways:– “New Voice Mail” is displayed onthe handset.– The message indicator on thehandset flashes slowly if messagealert feature is turned on (page 32).In order to listen to your Voice Mailmessages, you must dial yourtelephone service provider’s Voice Mailaccess number.Note:L If the handset still indicates there arenew messages even after you havelistened to new messages, turn it offby pressing and holding {CLEAR}until the handset beeps.L The indication of “New Voice Mail”may not display properly dependingon availability of this service provider.Please contact your telephoneservice provider for details.Message alertYou can select whether or not themessage indicator on the handsetflashes slowly when there are newrecorded messages in the Voice Mailsystem.
