Preparation8If you subscribe to an ADSL serviceL Please attach a noise filter (contact yourADSL service provider) to the telephoneline between the base unit and thetelephone line jack in the event of thefollowing:– Noise is heard during conversations.– Caller ID features (page 19) do notfunction properly.LocationL For maximum distance and noise-freeoperation, place your base unit:– away from electrical appliances such asTVs, radios, personal computers orother phones.– in a convenient, high and centrallocation.Batteryinstallation/replacementImportant:L Use only the included rechargeablebatteries noted on page 4, 5.L When replacing batteries, we recommendusing the Panasonic rechargeablebatteries noted on page 4, 5.L Wipe the battery ends (S, T) with a drycloth.L Install the batteries without touching thebattery ends (S, T) or the unit contacts.1 Press the notch on the handset coverfirmly and slide it in the direction of thearrow.L When replacing batteries, remove theold batteries positive (S) terminal first.2 Insert the batteries negative (T)terminal first.
