Making/Answering Calls19Answering callsWhen a call is being received, the ringerindicator flashes rapidly.1 Lift the handset and press {C} or {s}.L You can also answer the call bypressing any button except {^}, {V},{<}, {>}, or {OFF}. (Any key talkfeature)2 When you finish talking, press {OFF}.Note:L You can change the ringer tone. You canalso adjust the ringer volume (page 31).Auto talkThis feature allows you to answer a call bysimply lifting the handset off the base unitor charger. You do not need to press {C}.To activate this feature, see page 30.Temporary ringer offWhile the handset is ringing for an outsidecall, you can turn the ringer off temporarilyby pressing {OFF}.Useful featuresUseful features during a callHOLD buttonThis feature allows you to put an outsidecall on hold.KX-TG2631Press {HOLD} during an outside call.L To release the hold, press {C}.Note:L If another phone is connected on thesame line (page 10), you can also takethe call by lifting its handset.L If a call is kept on hold for more than 6minutes, an alarm tone starts to sound.After 4 additional minutes on hold, thecall is disconnected.KX-TG26321 Press {HOLD} during an outside call.L To transfer the call to anotherhandset, continue from step 2 onpage 39, “Transferring calls betweenhandsets, conference calls”.2 Press {HOLD} again.L To release the hold, press {C}.L Another handset user can take thecall by pressing {C}.Note:L If another phone is connected on thesame line (page 10), you can also takethe call by lifting its handset.L If a call is kept on hold for more than 6minutes, an alarm tone starts to sound.
