Before Requesting Help86GeneralProblemThe unit does not work.You cannot program items,such as the dialing mode.Previously programmedinformation is erased.“Recharge battery” isdisplayed on the handset,“ ” flashes or the unitbeeps intermittently.You charged the batteryfully, but “Rechargebattery” is still displayedand/or “ ” continues toflash.Remedy•Check the settings (p. 10–14).•Charge the battery fully (p. 11).•Clean the charge contacts and chargeagain (p. 12).•Install the battery properly (p. 76).•Place the handset on the base unit andunplug the AC adaptor to reset. Plug in,and try again.•Re-install the battery and place thehandset on the base unit. Try again.•Programming is not possible while theunit is in the talk or speakerphone mode,when viewing the Caller List/directorylist, or while the answering system is inuse.•Do not pause for over 60 seconds whileprogramming.•Move closer to the base unit.•Ö, Ñ, Ü or á may have beenpressed when you picked up thehandset. Press (FUNCTION/CH) and tryagain.•If a power failure occurs, programmedinformation may be erased. Reprogramif necessary.•Charge the battery fully (p. 11).•Clean the charge contacts and chargeagain (p. 12).•Install a new battery (p. 75).
