Using a pre-recorded greetingmessageThe unit provides 2 pre-recorded greetingmessages:– If you erase or do not record your own greetingmessage, the unit plays a pre-recorded greetingasking callers to leave a message.– If the message recording time (page 35) is setto “Greeting only”, callers’ messages arenot recorded and the unit plays a differentpre-recorded greeting message asking callers tocall again.Resetting to a pre-recorded greeting messageIf you want to use a pre-recorded greetingmessage once you record your own greetingmessage, you need to erase your own greetingmessage.Handset1 MMENUN#3042 MYESN a MOFFNPlaying back the greeting messageHandset1 MMENUN#3032 MOFFNListening to messagesusing the base unitWhen new messages have been recorded:– M N on the base unit flashes.– “New message” is displayed.Press M N.R If new messages have been recorded, the baseunit plays back new messages.R If there are no new messages, the base unitplays back all messages.Operating the answering systemduring playbackKey OperationMDN or MCN Adjust the speaker volumeKey OperationM N Repeat message*1M N Skip messageMPAUSEN Pause messageTo resume playback, pressM N.MnN (STOP) Stop playbackMERASEN Erase currently playing message*1 If pressed within the first 5 seconds of amessage, the previous message is played.Calling back (Caller ID subscribersonly)If caller information was received for the call, youcan call the caller back while listening to amessage.Lift the corded handset during playback.R To edit the number before calling back, pressMEDITN repeatedly until the phone number isshown in the desired format (page 29).Erasing all messagesPress MERASEN 2 times while the unit is not in use.Listening to messagesusing the handsetWhen new messages have been recorded:– “New message” is displayed.– The message indicator on the handset flashesslowly if the message alert feature is turned on(page 35).1 To listen to new messages:MPLAYNorMMENUN#323R If there are no new messages in theanswering system, MPLAYN is not displayed.To listen to all messages:MMENUN#3242 When finished, press MOFFN.Note:R To switch to the receiver, press M N.32 For assistance, please visit http://www.panasonic.com/helpAnswering System
