The available character entry modes are Alphabet Y, NumericZ, Greek o, Extended 1 q, Extended 2 r, and Cyrillic p. For SMS messages,Alphabet Y, Numeric Z, Greek o, and Extended q modes are available. When inthese entry modes except Numeric, you can select which character is entered by pressing adial key repeatedly.– Use the joystick to move the cursor.– Press dial keys to enter characters and numbers. When you press {1}, a list of symbols isdisplayed. Select the desired symbol then press L to insert the selected symbol, or pressa to insert additional symbols.– Press {C/T} to erase the character or number highlighted by the cursor. Press and hold{C/T} to erase all characters or numbers.– Press {*} to switch between uppercase and lowercase.– To enter another character located on the same dial key, push the joystick right to move thecursor to the next space, then press the appropriate dial key. (This is not necessary whenentering text in LetterWise mode.)Character entry modesSeveral character entry modes can be used when entering text. The characters that can beentered depend on the entry mode.LetterWiseLetterWise is a simplified text entry system which suggests the most likely letter to follow thepreviously entered letter. Each time you press a dial key, the letter most likely to be used isdisplayed. If the suggested character is incorrect, press {#} repeatedly to display the desiredcharacter.
