7Connections• The AC adaptor must remain connected at all times. (It is normal for the adaptorto feel warm during use.)Location• For maximum distance and noise-free operation, place your base unit:- away from electrical appliances such as TVs, radios, personal computers, orother phones.- in a convenient, high, and central location.Battery installationImportant:• Use only the supplied rechargeable batteries noted on page 4, 5.• USE ONLY rechargeable Ni-MH batteries AAA (R03) size.• Do NOT use Alkaline/Manganese/Ni-Cd batteries.• Ensure correct polarities (S, T) when installing the batteries.• Wipe the battery ends (S, T) with a dry cloth.• When installing the batteries, avoid touching the battery ends (S, T) or theunit contacts.Battery chargePlace the handset on the charger for about 7 hours before initial use.Note:• The handset display may show “Please Wait...” when the handset isplaced on the charger if it is not registered to a base unit.• If you fully charged the batteries, but the operating time seems to be short, wipethe battery ends (S, T) and the unit contacts with a dry cloth.Registering the handset to the KX-TG8200/KX-TG8220 baseunitEnsure that the handset is switched on. If it is not on, press and hold {ih} forfew seconds to turn the handset on.1 Lift the handset and press {ih}.
