Others42LSQT1006Before requesting repair(Problems and solutions)Power/Body1: The movie camera power cannot be turnedon.• Is the battery fully charged? Use a fullycharged battery.• The battery protection circuit may haveoperated. Attach the battery to the AC adaptorfor 5 to 10 seconds. If the movie camera stillcannot be used, the battery is faulty.• Is the LCD monitor open or the viewfinderextend?2: The movie camera power is turned offautomatically.• If you set [POWER SAVE] to [5 MINUTES] anddo not operate the movie camera for about5 continuous minutes, the power isautomatically turned off for tape protection andpower conservation. To resume recording, turnthe [OFF/ON] switch to [OFF]. Then turn it to[ON] again. (-38-) Also, if you set[POWER SAVE] to [OFF], the power does notautomatically turn off.3: The movie camera power does not stay onlong enough.• Is the battery low? If the remaining batterypower indication is flashing or the message“LOW BATTERY” is displayed, the battery hasrun down. Charge the battery or attach a fullycharged battery. (-8-)• Has condensation occurred? When you carrythe movie camera from a cold place into awarm place, condensation may occur inside it.If so, the power is turned off automatically,disabling all operations except for takingcassettes out. Wait until the condensationindication disappears. (-45-)4: Battery runs down quickly.• Is the battery fully charged? Charge it with theAC adaptor. (-8-)• Are you using the battery in an extremely coldplace? The battery is affected by ambienttemperature. In cold places, the operating timeof the battery becomes shorter.• Has the battery worn out? The battery has alimited life. If the operating time is still too shorteven after the battery is fully charged,depending on the usage, the battery has wornout and can no longer be used.5: The movie camera cannot be operatedthough powered up.The movie camera does not operatenormally.• The movie camera cannot be operated unlessyou open the LCD monitor or extend theviewfinder.• Remove the cassette and then press the[RESET] button. (-44-) If normal conditions arenot restored yet, turn off the power. Then,about 1 minute later, turn on the power again.6: The cassette cannot be removed.• Does the status indicator comes on whenopening the cassette cover? (-13-) Make surethat the battery and the AC adaptor areproperly connected. (-8-)• Is the battery in use discharged? Charge thebattery and remove the cassette.• Close the cassette cover completely, and fullyopen it again. (-13-)7: No operation other than cassette removalcan be performed.• Has condensation occurred? Wait until thecondensation indication disappears. (-45-)8: The remote control does not function.(NV-GS37 only)• Has the button-type battery of the remotecontrol run out? Replace it with a newbutton-type battery. (-18-)• Is the setting on the remote control correct? Ifthe setting on the remote control is not inagreement with the [REMOTE] setting on themovie camera, the remote control does notoperate. (-19-)Recording1: Recording does not start although power issupplied to the movie camera and thecassette is correctly inserted.• Is the accidental erasure prevention slider onthe cassette open? If it is open (set to [SAVE]),recording cannot be performed. (-13-)• Is the tape wound to the end? Insert a newcassette.• Is the recording mode set? When in theplayback mode, recording cannot beperformed. (-21-)• Has condensation occurred? No operationother than cassette removal can be performedwhen condensation occurs. Wait until thecondensation indication disappears. (-45-)• Is the cassette cover open? If the cover isopen, the movie camera may not operatenormally. Close the cassette cover. (-13-)
