(If the LCDmonitor is opened, the viewfinder will bedeactivated.)ª Adjusting the field of view1 Adjust the focus by sliding the eyepiececorrector knob.≥You can adjust the brightness of the viewfinderfrom the menu.Quick startWhen quick start is on the battery power is stillbeing consumed, even when the LCD monitorand the viewfinder are closed.The camera will resume recording/pause modeabout 1.7 seconds after the LCD monitor or theviewfinder is reopened.≥Please note in quick start mode approximatelyhalf the pause recording power is beingconsumed. Using quick start mode will reducethe battery recording/playback time.≥This is only activated in the following cases.≥While using the batteryA tape or a card is inserted, while the TapeRecording Mode is set.A card is inserted, while the Card RecordingMode is set.≥While using the AC adaptorQuick Start can be used even if a tape/cardis not inserted.≥Set to Tape/Card Recording Mode.1 Set [SETUP] >> [QUICK START] >> [ON].(-80-)2 While the [OFF/ON] switch is still set to[ON], close the LCD monitor and retract theviewfinder.≥The status indicator lights green and the unitgoes into quick start standby mode.≥The movie camera will not go into quick startstandby mode unless the LCD monitor isclosed and the viewfinder is retracted.3 Open the LCD monitor or extend theviewfinder.≥The status indicator lights red and the camerais put into recording pause approx.1.7 seconds after it is turned on.ª To cancel Quick Start1 Set [SETUP] >> [QUICK START] >> [OFF].(-80-)≥If the [OFF/ON] switch is set to [OFF] while theunit is in quick start standby mode, the powerturns off.≥If the standby continues for approx. 30 minutes,then the status indicator will go off and thecamera will be completely turned off.≥In the following cases, quick start is cancelledand the power turns off.≥When the Mode dial is moved.≥When the battery or AC adaptor is removed.≥When both the tape and card are removedwhile using the battery in Tape RecordingMode.≥When the card is removed while using thebattery in Card Recording Mode.≥When the movie camera is quick-started withthe white balance on automatic, it may takesome time until the white balance is adjusted ifthe scene being recorded has a light sourcedifferent from the scene last recorded.
