Panasonic PIMITES GS1 Quick Start Manual
AGS19NOTESTo ensure reliability, please verify qualityunder conditions of actual use.1. MountingUse lands on the printed-circuit boards towhich the sensor can be securely fixed.2. SolderingTake steps to minimize the effects ofexternal heat.Damage and changes to characteristicsmay occur due to heat deformation.Use a non-corrosive resin type of flux.1) Manual soldering• Set the soldering tip from 260 to 300°C(30W), and solder for no more than 5seconds.• Please note that output may change ifthe pressure is applied on the terminalswhen the soldering.• Thoroughly clean the soldering iron.2) Reflow soldering• The recommended reflow temperatureprofile conditions are given below.• We recommend the screen solderprinting method as the method for creamsolder printing.• Please refer to the recommended PCboard pad for the PC board foot pattern.• Self alignment may not always work asexpected; therefore, please carefullyadjust the position of the terminals andpattern.• The profile temperature is the valuemeasured on the PCB near the terminals.• When doing reflow soldering on theback of the PC board after performingsensor reflow, please fix the sensor withadhesive and so on.3) Solder reworking• Finish reworking in one operation.• For reworking of the solder bridge, usea soldering iron with a flat tip. Please donot add more flux when reworking.• Please use a soldering iron that isbelow the temperature given in thespecifications in order to maintain thecorrect temperature at the tip of thesoldering iron.4) Too much temperature on theterminals will cause deformation and lossin effectiveness of the solder. Therefore, please avoid dropping and carelesshandling of the product.5) When cut folding the PC board aftermounting the sensor, take measures toprevent stress to the soldered parts.6) The sensor terminals are designed tobe exposed, so contact of the terminalswith metal shards and the like will causeoutput errors. Therefore, please becareful and prevent things such as metalshards and hands from contacting theterminals.7) To prevent degradation of the PCboard insulation after soldering, pleasebe careful not to get chemicals on thesensor when coating.3. Connections• Please perform connections correctly inaccordance with the terminal connectiondiagram. In particular, be careful not toreverse wire the power supply as this willcause damage or degrade to the product.• Do not connect terminals that are notused. This can cause malfunction of thesensor.4. Cleaning• Avoid ultrasonic cleaning since this maycause breaks or disconnections in thewiring.5. Environment• Please avoid using or storing the sensorin a place exposed to corrosive gases(such as the gases given off by organicsolvents, sulfurous acid gas, hydrogensulfides, etc.) which will adversely affectthe performance of the sensor.• When installing the sensor, you mustprovide a capacitor as shown in therecommended circuit diagram.• Since the internal circuitry may bedestroyed if an external surge voltages issupplied, provide an element which willabsorb the surges.• Malfunctioning may occur if the productis in the vicinity of electrical noise such asthat from static electricity, lightning, abroadcasting station, an amateur radio,or a mobile phone.• Please do not use the sensor in alocation where it may be sprayed withwater, etc.• Avoid using the sensor in anenvironment where condensation mayform.Furthermore, its output may fluctuate ifany moisture adhering to it freezes.• Avoid using the sensor where it will besusceptible to ultrasonic or other high-frequency vibration.6. Other handling precautionsTo assure reliability, check the sensorunder actual loading conditions. Avoidany situation that may adversely affect itsperformance.• Caution is required because differencesin the acceleration detection range andthe method of connection can lead toaccidents.• The actual acceleration should be withinthe rated acceleration range. Damagemay occur if it is outside of this range.• Static electricity can damage thesensor. Be very careful when handling.T 1T 2T 3t1 t2T 1 = 150 to 180°C 302 to 356°FT2 = 230°C 446°FT 3 = Max. 240°C 464°Ft 1 = 60 to 120 sec.t 2 = With in 30 sec. |
