6STANDARDSVBHNxxxSJ series comply with the re-quirements of IEC61215, IEC61730-1,IEC61730-2 and the CE mark.APPLICATION CLASS OF PRODUCTHITTM are applied to application class Aand safety class II. It may be applicated insystems operating at greater than 50VDC or 240 W, where general contactaccess is anticipated.FIRE CLASS OF PRODUCTThe fire rating of this module is validonly when mounted in the manner speci-fied in the mechanical mounting instruc-tions.HITTM fill fire class C that provides to IE-C61730-2. Class C roof coverings areeffective against light fire test exposures.Under such exposures, roof coverings ofthis class afford a light degree of fireprotection to the roof deck, do not slipfrom position, and are not expected toproduce flying brands.JUNCTION BOX AND TERMINALS Modules equipped with one junc-tion box contain terminals for bothpositive and negative polarity, andbypass diodes. One terminal is dedicated to eachpolarity (with the polarity symbolsengraved onto the body of thejunction box) (see Figure 2).BYPASS DIODE When the modules in series stringsare shaded partially, it may causereverse voltage across cells or mod-ules, because the current from oth-er cells in the same series is forcedto flow through the shaded area. This may cause undesirable heatingto occur. The use of a diode to bypass theshaded area can minimize bothheating and array current reduc-tion. All modules are equipped with fac-tory installed bypass diodes. Thefactory installed diodes provideproper circuit protection for thesystems within the specified systemvoltage, so that you do not needany other additional bypass diodes. Specifications of bypass diode forVBHNxxxSJ25 modules are as fol-lows; Number of bypass diode: 3diodes Number of series cells perbypass diode: 24 cells / diode (SeeFigure 3). Specifications of bypass diode forVBHNxxxSJ47 modules are as fol-lows; Number of bypass diode: 4diodes Number of series cells perbypass diode: 24 cells / diode (SeeFigure 3).MECHANICAL LOADINGThe method offers a maximum load asshown in the table “Mount Location andload resistance” in Figure1 and Figure 5is a static state on the module surface.Figure 2.
