36GETTING STARTEDStep 3e. Digital 8VSB Cable/Analog Cable with Conventional TVFollow this diagram if you have a conventional TV, cable service providing 8VSBdigital cable cable box and you want to receive digital cable channels through theHDTV Digital Receiver and analog cable channels through the cable box. Please takenote that the HDTV Digital Receiver can receive 8 VSB as well as the unscrambledanalog cable channels. Therefore, if you have no cable box, the 8 VSB cable can bedirectly connected to the HDTV Digital Receiver.Note: The HDTV Digital Receiver is able to receive DTV signals from your local cableprovider only if they are transmitted in the 8VSB modulation format approved by theFCC for DTV transmission. Also, your cable provider may elect to transmit in the8VSB format for only a limited period of time. Please contact your cable provider todetermine if 8VSB modulation is availableProcedure• Connect the cable from the wall jack to the splitter using a standard RF cable with coaxialconnectors.• Connect one splitter output to the HDTV Digital Receiver ANT IN jack using a RF cable.• If using a cable box, connect the other splitter output to the cable box ANT (antenna) INjack using a RF cable.
