This is completely normal.z Recharging will not commence if internal temperature of thebattery pack is outside of the allowable temperature range(0 °C to 55 °C).(Î Reference Manual “Battery Power”) Once the allow-able range requirement is satisfied, charging begins auto-matically. Note that the recharging time varies based on theusage conditions. (Recharging takes longer than usual whenthe temperature is 10 °C or below.)z In high-temperature environments, the battery takes longerto fully recharge. In low-temperature environments, the bat-tery takes longer to fully recharge and the operating time isshorter. Only use the computer within the allowable temper-ature range.z The battery pack is a consumable item. If the amount oftime the computer can be run by using a particular batterypack becomes dramatically shorter and repeated rechargingdoes not restore its performance, the battery pack should bereplaced with a new one.z When transporting a spare battery inside a package, brief-case, etc., it is recommended that it be placed in a plasticbag so that its contacts are protected.z Always power off the computer when it is not in use.
