In the following, information is provided onhow to maximize use of the battery pack which is necessary for such computing.POINT1Four Important PointsPOINT2Conserving PowerBefore stepping away from your computer, press Fn + F10to put your computer in the ECO modeThe ECO mode helps you conserve power by cutting off power to the LCD andturning off the hard disk motor. To resume, you may press a key unrelated to thedirect triggering of a selection, like key.Things to RememberBe sure to charge your battery before and after use.To get the maximum use of your battery, set the power man-agement mode.POINT3 Check to see that you have your AC adapter with you beforeleaving your home or office.Purchasing a spare battery (CF-VZSU04) and the optional batterycharger* is highly recommended.* for U.S.A. and Canada: CF-VCB252 (with AC adapter)for Europe: CF-VCB251AAlways watch your battery level!POINT4Leave your computer off when it is not in use( "Starting Up/Shutting Down")Computing On The RoadBy repeatedly pressing the keys to maximize the brightness ( will be dis-played), following this, if the keys are pressed again, the brightness will be mini-mized, thereby lowering the power consumption.Adjust the brightness (dark) with Fn + F2Setting the suspend/hibernation timeout ( page 14)The suspend or hibernation function ( page 6) allows you to save power byautomatically cutting off power when the computer is idle or there is no access toindividual devices for 4 or 16 minutes. If [Enable (Always)] is selected for [PowerManagement Mode], the suspend/hibernation timeout function will go into effectfor both the battery pack and the AC adapter. If [Enable (Battery)] is selected for[Power Management Mode], it will go into effect only during operation by thebattery. The ECO mode timeout function will always work if [Enable (Always)] isselected for [Power Management Mode]. If [Enable (Battery)] is selected for [PowerManagement Mode], it will work only during operation by the battery.
