7BYPASS DIODE When the module is shaded partial-ly, it may cause reverse voltageacross cells, because the currentfrom other cells in the same series isforced to flow through the shadedarea. This may cause undesirableheating. The use of a diode to bypass theshaded area can minimize bothheating and module current reduc-tion. All modules are equipped with fac-tory installed bypass diodes. Thefactory installed diodes provideproper circuit protection for thesystems within the specified systemvoltage, so that you do not needany other additional bypass diodes. Specification of bypass diode is asfollows; Type: Number of bypassdiode: 4 diodes, Number of seriescells per bypass diode: 24 cells /diode. See Figure 3.INSTALLATION GENERALPlease read this guide completely beforeinstallation or use of the modules.OPERATING CONDITIONSPanasonic recommends that modules beoperated within the following OperatingConditions. An installation location withconditions beyond the Operating Condi-tions or with other Special Conditions(see below) should be avoided. Operat-ing Conditions of Panasonic modules areas follows:1) The modules should be operated onlyin terrestrial applications. No space orother Special Conditions.2) The operating module temperaturemust be within –30°C (-22°F ) to 85°C(185°F ).3) The wind pressure load of the installa-tion site should be less than Load Re-sistance shown in “Mount Locations andLoad Resistance” refer to table 1-3.UNPACKING AND HANDLING Do not hit the back sheet of a mod-ule with the connector when un-packing and handling. Please do not expose the connectorto rain water and dust . To avoid damage to the back sheetby the connector, Do not cut thestring binding the cables of junctionbox. See Figure 4. Do not handle modules while hold-ing their cables, junction box ormicroinverter. Handle them whileholding the frame with both handsin any situation. The anti-reflection glass of a moduleis easily soiled, when it is grasped byhand or hand gloves. So it is recom-mended to hold frames when carry-ing or installing the solar module. When cables and connectors touchthe surface of the glass, it may soilthe surface too. It is also recom-mended to avoid contact of cablesand connectors with surface of theglass. (If the glass surface becomesdirty, see section of "anti-reflectionglass surface cleaning".)Figure 4.
