29 Alarm InputThe Video Multiplexer can handle the following alarms:• Interface AlarmAlarm received from the ALARM/REMOTE connector.“ALARM” is displayed on the monitor screen.• Camera Switching Signal Loss AlarmAlarm indicating that camera switching signal loss hasoccurred.“SW LOSS” is displayed on the monitor screen.• Video Input Signal Loss AlarmAlarm indicating that camera signal loss has occurred.“CHXX LOSS” is displayed on the monitor screen. Alarm OperationWhen an alarm is activated, the Multiplexer, the RecordOutput and Monitor Output perform as shown below.Refer to the ALARM SETUP menu of the SETUP MENU onpage 11 for settings. Front Panel DisplayWhen an alarm is activated, the Alarm Indicator (Red) andthe corresponding Camera Selection Button (Green) blink.The Alarm Output signal is supplied to pin 9 of theALARM/REMOTE connector for the programmed duration.The indicator lights up after the preset Auto Reset Time haselapsed or the Video Multiplexer has received the AlarmRecovery In signal from the VTR.If another alarm is activated during output of the previousalarm, the later alarm is output for the programmed dura-tion.2. Alarm BuzzerThe built-in buzzer beeps for the programmed duration.The buzzer stops beeping before that duration when thealarm is reset. Record OutputThe pictures of channels where alarm is activated arerecorded on the VTR in the mode specified for the ALMREC MODE parameter on the ALARM SETUP menu.1. Alarm Priority ModeThe pictures of channels where alarm is activated arerecorded with more fields than in normal recording if ALM -PRI is specified in the ALARM SETUP menu.2. Alarm Only ModeOnly the picture of the channel receiving an alarm isrecorded while other channels’ are ignored.3. Group ModeThe pictures of channels assigned to an ALARM group arerecorded with more fields than normal. Assignments arespecified in the ALARM SETUP menu. Monitor Output1. Alarm Display ModeThe camera title and “ALARM” display blink alternately onthe monitor screen if the ALM DISPLAY is set to ON.ALARM2. Alarm Channel Monitor ModeThe picture of the channel where alarm is activated is dis-played on the monitor if Alarm MONITOR MODE is set toSPOT.
