The following section describes various security codesused on your phone.PIN code (4 to 8 digits)The PIN (Personal Identification Number) code protectsyour SIM card against unauthorized use. The PIN codeis usually supplied with the SIM card. If you input theincorrect PIN code entry three times in a row, the PINcode will be blocked. If the PIN1 code is blocked, youneed the PUK 1 code to unblock before you can use theSIM card again. See information on the PUK code.PIN2 code (4 to 8 digits)The PIN2 code, supplied with some SIM cards, is requiredto access some functions, such as call cost counters.Lock codeThe lock code can be used to lock the phone and keypadto avoid unauthorized use.PUK and PUK2 codes (8 digits)The PUK1 (Personal Unblocking Key) code is required tounblock a blocked PIN1 code. The PUK2 code is requiredto unblock a blocked PIN2 code. If the codes are notsupplied with the SIM card, contact the operator whoseSIM card is in your phone for the codes. You can changethe following codes: lock code, PIN code, and PIN2 code.These codes can include the numbers from 0 to 9 only.Call Barring Password (4 digits)The call barring password is required when you use theCall Barring function. You obtain the password from yourservice provider when you subscribe to this function. Youcan change this password using the Call barring menuoption. (For further details, see Security Settings on page74.)107Access codesNOTE: The factory setting for the lock code is 1234. To avoidunauthorized use of your phone, change the lock code.
