Anyadditional information may be obtained from Parker byreferencing the unit’s model number and serial numberstamped on the Reservoir Nameplate, or by contactingyour local authorized Parker Distributor. Some of the information in this manual may not applyto your power unit. Your power unit may includenon-cataloged equipment or contain additionalcomponents that were added after factory shipmentfrom Parker, in which case this manual will not includeinformation and possible required warnings regardingthis additional equipment.WARNING:It is imperative that personnel involved in theinstallation, service and operation of the powerunit be familiar with how the equipment is to beused. They should be aware of the limitations ofthe system and its component parts, and haveknowledge of good hydraulic practices in termsof safety, installation and maintenance.DescriptionParker’s standard power units feature a vertical design, with the pump/motor assembly vertically mounted tothe reservoir’s top plate. This minimizes the requiredfloor space and keeps the pump’s inlet flooded or nearlyflooded with oil, preventing cavitation. Make sure tomatch the design series of your unit with the designseries numbers in this manual. If your design seriesdoesn’t match the design series numbers shownlater in this manual, consult the factory to verify form, fit and function of replacement parts. In the examplebelow, the design series is “21”.D-Paks and H-Paks use fixed volume gear pumps.V-Paks use variable volume piston pumps and areavailable with several standard pressure compensationoptions, load sense and horsepower limiting options.See catalog HY28-2661-CD/US for more informationon Parker’s standard power units. Parker also makesmodifications to the cataloged units, and these unitshave X numbered suffixes. Most of the informationcontained in this document will apply to those unitsas well.LABELModel number Design seriesTank size (gal)Serial numberPump flow (max)Max pressure @ ratedflow and horsepowerV8 Power Units are obsolete as of Oct 2017 |
