the straightener incorrectly, you could overheat your hair or evenburn it. Always make sure you select a temperature that is suitable foryour hair type (Fig. 2).Always select a low temperature setting when you start using thestraightener for the first time.For coarse, curly or hard-to-straighten hair, select a medium to highsetting (180 and up).For fine, medium-textured or softly waved hair, select a medium to lowsetting (170 and down).Take extra care with pale, blonde, bleached or colour-treated hair, sinceit will be susceptible to damage at high temperature settings.The display shows the selected temperature setting and the remainingtime of the straightening session.The bars on the display show the remaining usage time of thestraightener. The total usage time is 60 minutes. Every ten minutes oneof the six bars disappears. After 60 minutes the appliance switches off.1 Insert the plug into the wall socket.2 Press the on/off button.The temperature setting of 120 appears on the display. As soon as theappliance has heated up to this setting, the word ‘READY’ appears on thedisplay.Never leave the appliance unattended when it is plugged in. Never put theappliance on a surface that is not heat-resistant when it is heating up andwhen it is hot.Tip: the straightener heats up more quickly if you lock the plates withthe closing lock.3 Set the temperature you want to use by pressing the + button toincrease the temperature setting or by pressing the - button todecrease the temperature setting. The display tells you which settingyou have selected. When the appliance has heated up to the selectedsetting, the word ‘READY’ appears on the display (Fig. 3).4 Comb or brush your hair so that it is disentangled andsmooth. (Fig. 4)Tip: it is better to section off the crown area and to straighten the hairunderneath first, followed by the top area.5 Take a section that is not wider than 5 cm. Place it between thestraightening plates and press the handles of the appliance firmlytogether.6 Slide the straightener down the length of the hair in 5 seconds, fromroot to hair end, without stopping to prevent overheating (Fig. 5).7 Repeat this process after 20 seconds until you have achieved thedesired look.8 Allow your hair to cool down.
