Please contact your Philips dealer or anauthorised Philips service centre if the overheat protection is activated toooften.Before first useThoroughly clean the parts that will come into contact with food beforeusing the appliance for the first time (see chapter ‘Cleaning’).Preparing for use1 Let hot ingredients cool down before chopping them or pouringthem into the beaker (max. temperature 80 °C).2 Cut large ingredients into pieces of approximately 2 cm beforeprocessing them.3 Assemble the appliance properly before plugging it into the wallsocket.Using the appliancehand blenderThe hand blender is intended for:blending fluids, e.g. dairy products, sauces, fruit juices, soups, mixeddrinks and shakes.mixing soft ingredients, e.g. pancake batter or mayonnaise.pureeing cooked ingredients, e.g. for making baby food.1 Attach the blender bar to the motor unit (‘click’) (Fig. 2).2 Immerse the blade guard completely in the ingredients (Fig. 3).3 Switch the appliance on by pressing the normal or turbo speedbutton.4 Blend the ingredients by moving the appliance slowly up and downand in circles (Fig. 4).Chopper (hR1364/1363 only)The chopper is intended for chopping ingredients such as nuts, meat, onions,hard cheese, boiled eggs, garlic, herbs, dry bread etc.The blades are very sharp! Be very careful when handling the blade unit,especially when removing it from the chopper bowl, when emptying thechopper bowl and during cleaning.1 Put the chopper blade unit in the chopper bowl (Fig. 5).2 Put the ingredients in the chopper bowl.3 Put the coupling unit onto the chopper bowl (Fig. 6).4 Fasten the motor unit onto the chopper bowl (‘click’) (Fig. 7).5 Switch the appliance on by pressing the normal or turbo speedbutton.If the ingredients stick to the wall of the chopper bowl, loosen themby adding liquid or using a spatula.Always let the appliance cool down after chopping meat.Whisk (type hR1364/hR1362 only)The whisk is intended for whipping cream, whisking egg whites, desserts etc.1 Connect the whisk to the coupling unit (Fig. 8).2 Connect the coupling unit to the motor unit (‘click’) (Fig. 9).3 Put the ingredients in a bowl.Tip: Use a large bowl for the best result.4 Immerse the whisk completely in the ingredients and to avoidsplashing start processing at normal speed by pressing the normalspeed button. (Fig. 10)5 Continue with turbo speed after approx. 1 minute by pressing theturbo speed button.Cleaning1 Unplug the appliance and detach the accessories before cleaning.2 Clean the beaker, the chopping bowl (HR1364/1363 only), thechopper blade unit(HR1364/1363 only), the chopper couplingunit (HR1364/1363 only) and the whisk without coupling unit(HR1364/1362 only) in the dishwasher or in warm water with somewashing-up liquid.It is recommended to remove the rubber ring from the chopper bowlbefore cleaning.3 The blade unit of the blender bar and the whisk can also be cleanedwhile still attached to the motor unit by immersing them in warmwater with some washing-up liquid and letting the appliance run for awhile.4 Wipe the motor unit and the whisk coupling unit (HR1364/HR1362only) with a moist cloth.Do not immerse the motor unit and the whisk coupling unit(HR1364/1362 only) in water.EnvironmentDo not throw away the appliance with the normal householdwaste at the end of its life, but hand it in at an official collectionpoint for recycling.
