• 9 •English+BlinkingSteady onRinse/Self-Cleaning CycleThis cycle will rinse the internal circuitswith fresh water.The cycle is carried out:• At machine start (with cold boiler)• After priming the water circuit (withcold boiler)• During the standby preparation phase(if a coffee product has been brewed)• During the turning off phase afterpressing the ON/OFF button (if a coffeeproduct has been brewed).Note: Before dispensing,place a container beneath thedispensing spout.A small amount of water will be dispensedwhich will rinse and heat all the machinecomponents; in this phase the indicatorlights fl ash counter-clockwise.Wait for the cycle to finish automatically.You can stop dispensing as well, by pres-sing either coffee button.ADJUSTMENTSThe machine that you have bought allowsfor certain adjustments that will permityou to use it to its full potential.Saeco Adapting SystemCoffee is a natural product and its cha-racteristics may change according to itsorigin, blend and roast. The Saeco coffeemachine is equipped with a self-adjustingsystem that allows the use of all types ofcoffee beans available on the market (noncaramelized).• The machine automatically adjustsitself in order to optimize the extrac-tion of the coffee, ensuring perfectcompression of the beans to obtain acreamy espresso coffee that will releaseall the aromas, regardless of the type ofcoffee used.• The optimization process is a learningprocess that requires the brewing of acertain number of coffees to allow themachine to adjust the compactness ofthe ground coffee.• Attention should be given to spe-cial blends, which require grinderadjustments in order to optimize theextraction of the coffee (see section“Coffee Grinder Adjustment”).
