Thedefault method is to use an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) site to store the recorded files for lateraccess. An FTP site is the equivalent of an Internet-accessible hard drive. There are both freeand commercial sources for FTP hosting available through the web. Some camera models allow the installation of a Micro SD card within the camera. Due to thenature of security cameras, these chips are not easily accessible once the camera has beeninstalled, but the files may be retrieved using the PSS software. If you are using a camerawith an installed Micro SD card, an extra tab (not shown) will appear allowing you to makeadditional configurations. Both recorded video and snapshots can be saved to the FTP site. You can allow all types ofevents to be saved, or choose only Timer (scheduled recordings), Motion Detection or Alarmevents to be saved to the FTP.Use the FTP tab to direct the camerawhere to save the files. You will also needto enter the user name and password thatyou normally use when you log into thesite yourself, or you can create a specificuser account for this camera. The RemoteDirectory is the folder into which the files willbe saved.RECORD CONTROLThis tab allows you to set the maximumlength of the recorded video, along withamount of pre-event video is added to thefile. Like the NVR, you can have the cameraoverwrite old files when the storage area isexceeded, or it can stop recording until thefiles are manually deleted.Additionally, you may choose to record largermain stream of video, or the smaller - andlower quality - sub stream.3.6 SYSTEMThis submenu is where the user can make changes to the camera itself, including setting localtime, configuring user accounts, upgrade the firmware and reset all values to their defaultsettings.GENERALYou can change the camera’s device name here, which will make it easier to pick out in theRemote Device menu when adding it to your NVR.PICTURE 3-19PICTURE 3-20English is the only language currently available and you can choose the video standard -NTSC (North America and most of South America) or PAL (Europe), but this won’t generallymake a difference when monitoring the camera through the Web Service program or the NVR.Account Lock Enable is disabled by default. Enabling this feature will lock the camera fromremote access - either by the NVR or through the Web Service - app if the wrong user namesor passwords are entered the selected number of times. If the camera is locked out, it willneed to be physically reset using the Reset button on or in the camera (depending on model).DATE & TIMEThe date and time can be set locally for thecamera and it can synchronize with a timeserver and keep track of Daylight SavingsTime just like the NVR.The SyncPC button will set the time to that ofthe computer which you are using to accessit. Keep in mind, that settings on the NVRcan override this and synchronize the timewith itself as described in Section 4.3 of theUser Manual.
