Venting ComponentsChimney Connector:It is also known as flue pipe or stove pipe. The chimneyconnector joins the stove to the chimney. It must be a 6 inch(152mm) minimum diameter 24 gauge mild steel black or26 gauge blued steel, or an approved air-insulated doublewall venting pipe.Thimble:A manufactured or site-constructed device installed incombustible walls through which the chimney connectorpasses to the chimney. It is intended to keep the wallsfrom igniting. Site constructed thimbles must meetNFPA 211 Standards. Prefabricated must be suitablefor use with selected chimney and meet UL103 Type HTStandards. Follow instructions provided by the manufacturerfor manufactured thimbles for masonry chimney andprefabricated chimneys.Chimney:The chimney can be new or existing, masonry or prefabricatedand must meet the following minimum requirements specifiedin Section 5B.B.
