15ENGLISHAdjustable back slingThe adjustable back sling can beadjusted for tension by usingseveral straps.The back sling upholstery can beaccessed from the inside via anopening and can be padded to suitindividual tastes (Fig. 5.23).Fig. 5.23Height-adjustable backrestThe backrest may be set tovarious back heights, in 2.5 cmsteps. The adjustment ranges are25- 30 cm, 30- 35 cm, 35- 40 cmand 40- 45 cm. Release thescrews (1+2) and set the backrestto the desired height. Tighten upthe screws again (see the page ontorque). (Fig. 5.24).Fig. 5.2412Push HandlesHeight-adjustable push handlesThese handles are secured with pinsto prevent them from sliding outunintentionally. opening the quick-release lever (1) makes it possible toadjust the height of the push handles(2) to meet your individual needs. Asyou move the lever, you will hear alocking mechanism; you can noweasily position the push handle asdesired. The nut on the tension leverdetermines how tightly the pushhandles are clamped into place. If the nut is loose after adjustingthe tension lever, the push handle will also be too loose. Turnthe push handle from side to side before use to make sure that itis clamped securely enough into place. After adjusting thehandle height, always clamp the tension lever (1) securely intoplace. If the lever is not secure, injuries could result whenascending stairs. (Fig. 5.29).NOTE – If the height-adjustable push handles are not fittedproperly, there is a risk that these will develop "play" or that theymove out of position. Please make sure that the relevant screwsare tightened correctly.Fold-down push handlesIf the push handles are not in use,they can be folded down depressingthe button (2). Loosen the four receiver adjustmentbolts (D) on the sides of the receiver.2. With the armrest in the receiver (E),squeeze the receiver to achieve thedesired fit.3. Tighten the four bolts (D). (144in-lbs, 16.3 Nm)Position Adjustment1. Loosen the two clamp bolts (10) untilclamp is loose.2. Slide armrest receiver to desiredposition.3. TightenAnti-Tip TubesWARNING !Sunrise medical recommends anti-tip tubes for all chairs. Whenfitting anti-tip tubes, use a torque of 7 nm.1. Slotting the anti-tip tubes into theclamp:a. Press the rear button on the anti-tiptube on the anti-tip tube adapter, sothat both release pins are drawninwards.b. Slot the anti-tip tubes (1) into theanti-tip tube adapter.c. Turn the anti-tip tubes downwardsuntil the release pin locks into theclamp.d. Fit the second anti-tip tube in the same way.2. Adjusting the anti-tip tubesTo achieve the correct ground clearance of approx. 1" to 2" (2.5cm to 5.0 cm), the anti-tip tubes must be raised or lowered.Press the anti-tip tube release button, so that both release pinsare drawn inwards. move the inner tube up or down to slot intothe height holes provided. Release the button. Fit the secondanti-tip wheel in the same way. both wheels should be at thesame height.
