87.5 QuietCool Trouble Shooting GuideProblem1. Water on the FloorA. Front of unit . . .B. Back of unit2. Found water on floor afterovernight shut off.3. Foul odor from fanA. New Unit . . .B. After normal use . . .4. No water running over thepads . . .CauseToo much water.Damage to polyethylene housing. Note:Check for possible cracks in the bluepolyethylene.Excess water at top or bottom of pads.Damage to blue polyethylene housing.Leaking from bottom of pads.Excessive water pressure.Float valve maybe stuck in open position.New pad may have a temporary odor (thisis normal) – you may be smelling thethermosetting resin on the new pads– it will pass.Water quality – check your immediateenvironment.Check your water flow valve first.Water supply off at main valve source.Pump switch is off.Water filter may be clogged.SolutionReduce the water flow with the water controlvalve located on the front of the unit. Note:Close the valve all the way – then open 1 ¼turns. (QuietCool units usually operate at peakperformance at 1 ¼ turns).Repair as necessary.Reduce the water flow with the water controlvalve located on the front of the unit.Search for leaks and repair as necessary.Push bottom of cooling pads gently inside tostop leaking.Check you pressure. Max water pressure is 413KPA (60 p.s.i.), adjust water supply valve to1 ¼ turns or install a water pressure regulatorfound at local hardware store.Contaminants in water; drain cooler, sump andrefill. If float remains stuck remove pads andexamine float for debris or damage. Wash outdebris and replace float. Continue.Drain and refill several times in first week toremove thermosetting resin smell.Add QC Tablets to reduce smell – and algae.Water should be drained about once a month orsooner depending on your specific workingenvironment – the water quality and conditions.Make sure your water flow valve is open.QuietCool units usually operate at peakperformance at 1 ¼ turns.Open water valve at supply. You may wish tokeep this valve open at all times.Turn pump switch on.Remove the cooling pads see section 6.2. Openback of unit – open water filter – pull out filterscreen and clean. Replace and try again.
