31GBGBTRANSPORTATIONIN MOTORVEHICLES 1/2The Cheetah wheelchair is approved for trans-porting people in motor vehicles, when thewheelchair is placed in forward-facing position.The approval is not valid on special madechairs.Follow the below to ensure the safety:The user should transfer to the vehicleseat and use the vehicle-installed restraintsystem whenever it is feasible.The wheelchair must be placed in forward-facing position, when used as a seat in amotor vehicle. Use an approved 4-pointstrap-type tiedown system.The seat must be placed in horizontalposition. The back must be 90° or perpen-dicular to the seat.Use an approved 3-point belt in the wheel-chair. Restraints should not be held awayfrom the body by wheelchair componentssuch as side plates or wheels.All accessories must be removed fromthe wheelchair and secured separately inthe vehicle. Accessories which can not beremoved, must be secured to the wheel-chair but positioned away from the userwith energy-absorbing padding placedbetween the accessories and the user.The wheelchair should be inspected by thedealer before re-use following involvementin any type of vehicle impact.Restraints should notbe held away frombody by wheelchaircomponents suchas side platesor wheels.GB
