Connections & SetupChapter 1 216. Look at your cable box. If it is still on and changed to channel 09,the test was successful. Highlight Yes, and press OK.If the cable box did not change to channel 9, highlight No. If youselect No, the system will try another code.If the GUIDE Plus+ system cannot recognize your cable box afterseveral tries, a screen stating “Cable Box (VCR) test failed...Pleaseconsult your manual and try again” appears. You have a choice toeither Try Again or Skip Cable Box Setup. If you get this message,you should also:• Double check the brand of your cable box, and try entering itagain.• Check to make sure the G-LINK cable wand is positionedcorrectly.If you choose to skip the cable box or VCR setup some features ofthe guide may not be available until you successfully complete thisprocedure.7. Highlight the channel to which you have to tune your TV in order tosee cable programming, and press OK (a screen appears remindingyou to connect your G-LINK cable to your TV and cable box).Notes:• Channel 03 is the most common.• Choose Video1/AUX if your cable box is connected to your TVwith audio/video cables instead of a coaxial cable. Go to page13 for pictures of these cables.TipsIf you’re not sure which channel is the cablebox’s output channel, consult the owner’smanual that came with your cable box orcontact your cable company.Leave your cable box turned ON to receiveprogram information.Leave your VCR turned OFF to record programs.
